Meeting the Moment: Victory will be Ours

Time is ticking.

The clock waits for no one.

However, we have a life to live.

Places to go, people to see.

And yet, we feel the roadblocks.

Demons of old have invaded our towns and cities, leaving many asleep at the wheel of their own destiny.

The time is now. We must WAKE UP.

The timeline is crazy, for sure. We are experiencing things that we thought were over. And yet, they appear, masked in Jim Crow 2.0, homophobia, and transphobia. So many feel bold enough to threaten our lives, threaten our freedoms, threaten our expressions, and threaten our employment.

Yet, we are still here, growing, learning, expressing, and living. As much as the evil powers that want to fabricate history to assuage their own ancestral guilt, the Universe has another plan.

As Dr. King said, "Truth crushed to Earth will rise again." We will continue to tell the truth to power and live out our birthright to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

We are part of this country called the United States of America. Some of us have roots deep in this soil from 1619 to the present. Regardless of your family of origin, we are all in this bucket now.

Perhaps it is time to remind people that we are here, we are queer, get used to it!
